Some things that people still believe make me sad.
I love my small town, my rural county, my healthy state, and my unsettled nation, but there are things that disappoint me.
—–Some people still believe that a difference of opinion means the end of a relationship.
—–Some people still believe that bureaucrats know more about education than learned education professionals.
—–Some people still believe that driving aggressively and dangerously is somehow their right.
—–Some people still believe that woman’s place is in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant.
—–Some people still believe that churches are obsolete.
—–Some people still believe that it’s acceptable to be a poor winner.
—–Some people still believe that beauty on the outside means beauty on the inside.
—–Some people still believe that it’s okay to pay athletes, entertainers, and celebrities millions of dollars for the public’s entertainment.
—–Some people still believe that teachers, preachers, social workers, counselors , healthcare workers are not as valuable as those mentioned above.
—–Some people still believe that prayer is a waste of time.
—–Some people still believe that if it’s written, it’s true.
—–Some people still believe that every discussion is colored by politics.
—–Some people still believe that race or gender sets us apart.
—–Some people still believe that dogs don’t have souls.
—–Some people still believe that character is judged by material gains.
—–Some people still believe that there is no God, there is no greater good, there is no redemption, there is no hope.
These things make me sad.

Some people still believe that celebrities and athletes are heroes, and men and women who serve our country don’t even deserve a living salary.
Sad……..
I once had a “boss” who spoke often that “every tub must sit on its’ own bottom”. I feel that everyone needs assistance from time to time to get through the rough spots. Family and friends are the nearest and can see the needs best as no one else can.
